April Poem-a-Day — April 8, 2014

Tuesday, April 8th, 2014

Prompt: Write a peaceful poem.

My heart as wide as the ocean

Where I float effortlessly

Out beyond the crashing waves

Cradled by brine of origin

Salt blood in my veins.

Skin sack that divides us,

I feel it melting away.
