April Poem-a-Day — April 2, 2014

Today’s prompt is “Voyage”.

Voyage

As stars become suns

then fade again to stars in passing,

I imagine a deep velvety blue

where eyes tell only dead black.

The nothingness we can see

belies the rich stew of motion

bubbling beyond our grasp:

particles, Higgs energy giving mass.

Our course is entered for exploration,

yet heavy the temptation to steer

into a black hole with hope

for stranger revelations.
